Rondout goes 4-5 in dual meet wrestling event

PINE BUSH — Rondout Valley High wrestling team went 4-5 at the dual meet tournament held on Sunday at Pine Bush High.

The Ganders defeated Kingston, Washingtonville, Highland and Iona Prep and lost to John Jay, Pine Bush, Beacon, Arlington and Monsignor Farrell.

John Hodes went a perfect 9-0 with seven pins in the 112-pound weight class to lead Rondout. Collin Dimler was 8-1 with seven pins at 125, while Maxx Stratton (145) and Brandon Lewis (119) both went 7-2.

Wrestlers going 6-3 included Paul Sommer (135) and John Kelder (171), and Rodney Harding (96), Ian Mores (130) were both 5-4.

Others competing were Jonathan Nace (103), Bryan McLean (140), James Roebuck (152), Dash Stratton (160), Christian Santiago, Seth Woodbury and Devon Pullman.
