Kingston man accused of breaking into vehicles

KINGSTON — A Kingston man with a long history of being charged with breaking into vehicles has been arrested for a string of vehicle larcenies in the Bloomington area dating back to Nov. 22, 2009.

Alan L. DePace, 34, of 11 Downs St., was charged by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office with two felony counts of criminal mischief, along with five counts of petit larceny, and four counts of conspiracy, all misdemeanors, following his arrest Tuesday.

DePace has a history dating back to at least 2003 of being charged with breaking into vehicles around Ulster County. Information on whether he has been convicted of anything was not immediately available.

DePace is scheduled to appear in Rosendale Town Court at a future date.

Police said the investigation remains open and more arrests in connection with the vehicle break-ins are expected.
