HUDSON
u DWAI: John E. Frascello, 45, of Virginia Avenue, Saugerties, was arrested at 7:39 p.m. Monday on charges of misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs and the infractions of refusal to take breath test, speed not reasonable and prudent, fail to keep right and tire standards. Hudson city police said Frascello had been driving a 2002 Ford Taurus south on Harry Howard Avenue when he failed to keep right, crossed into the northbound lane and then went off the roadway, striking a National Grid utility pole. Police said the car rolled onto its roof with telephone and cable wires on top of the vehicle. Frascello was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital for evaluation and investigation showed he used Hydrocodone and Xanax, police said. He was arraigned in Hudson City Court and released on his own recognizance.
NEW PALTZ
u DWI: Logan W. Metzing, 21, of 1296 Brunswick Road, Gardiner, was arrested at 3:17 a.m. Saturday on a charge of misdemeanor drunken driving. Ulster County sheriff’s deputies said Metzing was arrested following a traffic stop on state Route 299 after he was seen driving past their location in a 1997 Saturn at a high rate of speed. Metzing was released on tickets to appear in New Paltz Town Court.
PLATTEKILL
u DWI: Santos Laboy, 29, of Highland, was arrested at 10:10 p.m. Monday on Patura Road by state police at Highland on a charge of misdemeanor drunken driving. He was released to a third party on tickets to appear in Plattekill Town Court.
WAWARSING
u Menacing: Robert K. Baratta, 18, of 329 Old Plank Road, Pine Bush and James Wallace, 20, of 5 Baxter Road, Pine Bush, were arrested at 11:22 p.m. Saturday on misdemeanor charges of menacing and possession of a weapon. Ulster County sheriff’s deputies said they and state police were sent to a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival, police learned the two had entered the property of another person and physically menaced him with a weight lifting bar and a round 10-pound weight, deputies said. Baratta and Wallace were released on tickets to appear in Wawarsing Town Court.
