In the courts (Feb. 23, 2012)

The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.

ULSTER COUNTY COURT

u DWI: Robert Kerrigan, 59, of Kingston was sentenced Friday by County Judge Donald A. Williams to 60 days in Ulster County Jail with five years’ probation.  He was arrested by state police in January 2011 for drunken driving and pleaded guilty to felony drunken driving in December 2011.

u Sex offender registration: Brandon Payton, 28, address unknown, pleaded guilty Friday before Williams to felony failure to register as a sex offender. He was arrested in November 2011 by Saugerties police for sex offender registry violation.

u Attempted burglary: Steven Frichette, 21, of Washington Avenue, Kingston, pleaded guilty Friday before Williams to felony attempted burglary. He was arrested in January 2011 by Kingston police.

u Attempted burglary: Ryan Knowlton, 22, of First Avenue, Kingston, pleaded guilty Friday before Williams to felony attempted burglary. He was arrested in January 2011 by Kingston police.

u Weapon possession:Malcolm Jemmott, 46, of Queens was sentenced Friday by Williams to 12 years in prison with five years’ post-release supervision. He was arrested in September 2010 by Kingston police for felony criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded guilty in December 2011 to felony possession of a weapon

u Indecent material:Christopher Pierce, 45, of Clay, was sentenced Friday by Williams to six years in prison with five years’ post-release supervision for felony attempting to disseminate indecent material to a minor. He pleaded guilty in December 2011. He was arrested in July 2009 by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies. At the time, Pierce was working at the Onondaga County Jail as a sheriff’s deputy.
