'Winter storm watch' downgraded to 'winter weather advisory' in low-lying areas

The National Weather Service has issued a "winter weather advisory" .for the Hudson Valley and canceled the "winter storm watch" that was issued earlier.

The "winter storm watch" remains in effect for the Catskills.

The forecast now calls for 1 to 4 inches of snow for the region's low-lying areas and 4 to 8 inches in the mountains between midday Wednesday and early Thursday..
