LETTER: Sepe deserves the credit
Dear Editor:
While we respect both Congressman Hinchey, D-Kingston, and Pete Seeger, and can even thank Rob Dyson, who has lots of money to give away, the real acknowledgement, be it a plaque or naming the Walkway Over the Hudson, should go to Bill Sepe.
Sepe is just an average citizen who had a vision back in the 1980s for the then nonfunctional burned-out railroad bridge that was really an eyesore. He worked tirelessly, attempting to get money by selling T-shirts at many festivals over the years in Kingston and elsewhere. He even had the title to it at one time. It has been a joy to the Hudson River communities and help to businesses in the area as well.
Thanks, Bill Sepe, for your vision and time and to the Freeman for doing an editorial (Feb. 16) about this.
