LETTER: Individual rights

Dear Editor:

Why shouldn’t religious employers provide insurance coverage for contraception?   It’s a violation of their beliefs!  Is it a violation of their beliefs to look the other way when children are molested?

I was and I still am a Catholic.

Why isn’t the right of the individual protected by the Declaration of Independence as important as the so-called right of the Church in the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights?

Again, why should the Church’s leadership deny individual rights while demanding recognition of its own rights?
