The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
ULSTER COUNTY COURT
u Welfare fraud: Sara Cromwell, 34, of Black Creek Road, Esopus, was sentenced Tuesday by Ulster County Judge Donald A. Williams to one year in Ulster County Jail for a violation of probation, according to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. Cromwell, who pleaded guilty to the probation violation charge, had been sentenced on July 5, 2011, to five years probation on a welfare fraud conviction.
u DWI: Robert Kinsell, 32, of state Route 32A, Saugerties, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Williams to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed driving, according to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. He was charged on April 30, 2011, by Saugerties police.
u Violation of probation: Justine Elmendorf, 18, of Crispell Road, Olivebridge, admitted to a violation of his probation in Ulster County Court Tuesday, according to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. Elmendorf had been sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation on Aug. 12, 2011. In June, Elmendorf pleaded guilty to an assault charge. He had been arrested by the state police on March 16, 2011, on assault, weapons possession and menacing charges, the District Attorney’s Office said.
