Dear Editor:
Well, I believe the first round of the presidential election, like the morning sun, is slowly rising upon us.
I believe it will be a close and divisive contest. What we will witness is how our country, which has been in a slow decline and even longer denial, decides if it wants to wake up or die in its sleep. I say that because there is no way America can survive the presidency of a socialist candidate Barack Obama.
Again he is making populist promises that resonate, but just can not be done. A nation in a mountain of debt and a slipping economy with high unemployment can not afford a bigger and more regulatory government.
Obama wants to hire more failed union teachers, hike the taxes on the small entrepreneurs, the so-called rich, the job creators, and hike the minimum wage. The problems, however, scream for lower taxes and less government!
The country has serious problems. This president has turned hard work, prosperity, oh yeah, and the rich, into a culture of sin. The new collectivism agenda of the Obama presidency will eventually buckle to the economic realities. Be careful what you wish for, “demos,” as in demolish.
