VIDEO: School Bus Driver of the Year, Operation Safe Stop
Don Mackenzie of Napanoch, a bus driver for Ulster BOCES, was awarded the 2011 School Bus Driver of the Year Award recently by the Ulster County Traffic Safety Board.
Mackenzie, who has been driving for BOCES for nine years and has had no accidents during his 25-year career as a bus driver, was given the award at an Operation Safe Stop event. Operation Safe Stop is aimed at making sure laws that prohibit passing a stopped school bus are obeyed.
