The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
ESOPUS
• False reporting: Maria A. Velez, 44, of Esopus, was charged with felony falsely reporting an incident by state police in Gardiner at 5:23 a.m. on Saturday. Velez also was charged with misdemeanor menacing, misdemeanor aggravated harassment and the violation of publishing an application under the influence of drugs. She was released on an appearance ticket.
• Drugs: Kirk O. Lewis, 25, of Poughkeepsie was charged with misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle with ability impaired by drugs and misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation by state police in Gardiner at 2:10 p.m. on Friday on U.S. Route 9W in the town of Esopus. Lewis also was charged with the traffic infractions of unsafe lane change and speeding. He was released to a third party.
LLOYD
• DWI: Adrian Ramirez, 24, of Milton, was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent by state police in Highland at 3:28 a.m. on Saturday on U.S. Route 9W in the town of Lloyd. He was released on tickets.
NEW PALTZ
• DWI: Denise C. Brady, 39, of 56 Vineyard Ave., Highland, was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office at 4:10 a.m. on Saturday on Main St. in the town of New Paltz. Police said Brady was pulled over when she was observed driving her car without headlights. Brady was released on tickets to appear in Town of New Paltz on May 22.
WAWARSING
• Shoplifting: Adam Boudreau, 17, of Kerhonkson, was charged with misdemeanor petit larceny and misdemeanor criminal trespass by state police in Wawarsing at 4 p.m. on Friday. Boudreau was released on tickets. Continued...
SHAWANGUNK
• DWI: Robert W. Apelles, 37, of 1339 Indian Springs Road, Pine Bush, was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office at 1:29 a.m. on Friday on Oregon Trail in the town of Shawangunk. Apelles also was charged with failure to maintain lane and was released on tickets to appear in Town of Shawangunk Court on May 14.
ROCHESTER
• DWI: Tyler G. Rion, 19, of Accord, was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent by state police in Wawarsing at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday on Mettacahonts Rd. in the town of Rochester. Rion also was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation and was released on tickets.
RED HOOK
• Burglary: Daniel Turhane, 18, of 2314 County Route 83, Pine Plains, was charged with misdemeanor burglary by state police in Rhinebeck on April 20. Police said Turhane entered a home in the town of Red Hook and stole an Xbox 360 game system from the home. He was arraigned in Red Hook Court and was released on tickets.
