Tonight's Law & Disorder: May 13, 2012
The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
CITY OF KINGSTON
• Drugs: Roy H. Benton, 21, of 1933 Union St., Brooklyn was arrested Friday at 1:31 a.m. by members of the Kingston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit in the area of Franklin Street at Clinton Avenue on an outstanding arrest warrant for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and violation possession of controlled substance outside its original container. While processing Benton, police said he was found to possess more than one and half ounces of crack cocaine. He was charged additionally with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor loitering. Police said Benton is a member of the Crips street gang. He was sent to Ulster County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
• Drugs: Dylan T. Kennedy, 30, of 40 Dewitt St., Kingston was arrested Sunday at 12:56 a.m. by Kingston police and charged with two counts misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and violation possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container. Police said during an investigation into a larceny, Kennedy was found to possess a white powder that field tested positive for cocaine, as well as 10 acetaminphen/hydrocodone bitartrate pills, which are a schedule III controlled substance. Kennedy was processed and issued a ticket to appear in Kingston City Court.
ATHENS
• DWI: Michael T. Maxwell, 64, of Athens was arrested Saturday at 10 p.m. by state police at Coxsackie and charged with felony drunken driving. He was released on his own recognizance with a ticket to appear in Athens Village Court.
CATSKILL
• DWI: Raymond D. Busch, 26, of Coxsackie was arrested Saturday at 11:18 p.m. by state police at Catskill and charged with misdemeanor drunken driving. He was released to a third party with a ticket to appear in Catskill Town Court.
• Burglary: Nicholas Muzio, 23, Midland Beach was arrested Saturday at 8:30 a.m. by state police at Hunter and charged with felony burglary. He was released on cash bail with a ticket to appear in Catskill Village Court; bail amount was not released.
CLERMONT Continued...
• DWI: Terry A. Lown, 46, of Germantown was arrested Saturday at 10:18 p.m. by state police at Claverack and charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and three motor vehicle infractions. He was released to a third party with tickets to appear in Clermont Town Court.
COPAKE
• DWI: Jane V. Naylor, 38, of Millerton was arrested Sunday at 2:30 a.m. by state police at Claverack and charged with two counts of misdemeanor drunken driving. She was issued tickets to appear in Copake Town Court.
GHENT
• DWI: Jeffrey L. Seymour, 42, of Stockport was arrested Saturday at 11:05 p.m. by state police at Claverack and charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and infraction drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway. He was released to a third party with tickets to appear in Ghent Town Court.
HURLEY
• DWI: Joel D. Zenie, 43, of Kingston was arrested Saturday at 9:43 p.m. by state police at Ulster and charged with two counts of misdemeanor drunken driving. He was issued tickets to appear in Hurley Town Court.
LIVINGSTON
• Obstruction of breathing: Richard W. Williams, 38, of 3326 Route 9, Livingston was arrested Friday by state police at Livingston and charged with misdemeanor strangulation/obstruction of breathing. Police said troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at the Route 9 address. Williams was arrested as a result of the investigation and sent to Columbia County Jail on $2,500 cash bail.
NEW PALTZ Continued...
• DWI: Joseph P. Delforno, 29, of Highland was arrested Sunday at 4:23 a.m. by state police at Highland and charged with two counts of misdemeanor drunken driving. He was issued tickets to appear in New Paltz Town Court.
• Drugs: Maurice C. Smith, 20, of Poughkeepsie was arrested Sunday at 1:37 a.m. by state police at Highland and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. He was released on cash bail with a ticket to appear in New Paltz Town Court; bail amount was not available.
RED HOOK
• DWAI/drugs: Gavin W. Healy, 22, of Rhinebeck was arrested Saturday at 11:45 a.m. by state police at Rhinebeck and charged with misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs. He was issued a ticket to appear in Red Hook Town Court.
SAUGERTIES
• Stolen property: Vincent A. Debellis, 35, of Saugerties was arrested Saturday at 2 p.m. by state police at Ulster and charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen property. He was issued a ticket to appear in Saugerties Town Court.
ULSTER
• DWI: Christopher R. Whitehead, 26, of Saugerties was arrested Saturrday at 11:15 p.m. by state police at Ulster and charged with three misdemeanors: drunken driving, aggravated drunken driving no prior and aggravated unlicensed opeation of a motor vehicle. He was issued tickets to appear in Ulster Town Court.
• Grand larceny: Kristina Burnett, 38, of Red Hook was arrested Saturday at 10:55 a.m. by state police at Ulster and charged with two felonies: grand larceny and scheme to defraud. Additional information was not available.
