Police ID person killed in Kingston motorcycle accident as Brian Ferrari, 30, of Lake Katrine (video)

KINGSTON, N.Y. — City police on Tuesday identified the motorcyclist killed in fiery crash at First Avenue and Kingston Street as Brian Ferrari, 30, of Lake Katrine.

The accident, which happened at 1:02 a.m. Monday, involved two motorcycles and left the other driver and a passenger injured.

The injured driver, Nicholas Saveskie, 27, of East Kingston, could face criminal charges in connection with the crash, police have said, but Detective Richard Negron of the Kingston Police Department said no charges had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, but Negron said police do not believe speed was a factor. Late Tuesday afternoon, skid marks and gasoline stains still were evident at the accident scene.

Saveski remained hospitalized Tuesday at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, though police did not specify his condition or the nature of his injuries.

Saveskie’s passenger, Kimberly Dougherty, 28, of Lake Katrine, remained in critical condition on Tuesday at Westchester Medical, police said. Negron said she suffered burns over at least 30 percent of her body.

Kingston Fire Chief John Reinhardt said on Monday that the accident caused both motorcycles to catch fire.
