The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
CITY OF KINGSTON
Drugs: Terry Monroe Jr., 32, of 78 Downs St., Kingston, was charged by Kingston police with the misdemeanors of criminal possession of a controlled substance, loitering, and petit larceny Tuesday evening. Police said the department’s Special Investigation Unit was conducting a street crimes detail in response to neighborhood complaints about drug activity when it charged Monroe on an arrest warrant issued by Kingston City Court. Police said Monroe was found with “suspected cocaine and a substantial amount of cash.” He was issued an appearance ticket for Kingston City Court.
Robbery: Tsedai A. McComb of Room 209, Capri Motel, New York City, was charged by Kingston police with robbery, a felony, and the misdemeanors of assault and criminal obstruction of breathing at 4:52 p.m. Tuesday. McComb is accused of forcibly taking a ring from a female acquaintance and choking her in the process.
DWI: Joseph Banks Jr., 58, of Delaware Avenue, Kingston, was charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving by Kingston police at 7:07 p.m. Monday.
Drugs: Holly Riggins, 35, of Fairview Avenue, Kingston, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and trespass, a violation, by Kingston police at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday.
CAIRO
Criminal contempt: Theodore L. King, 46, of Main Street, Cairo, was charged by state police at Catskill with the misdemeanors of menacing, criminal contempt, and harassment at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday. He was being held in lieu of cash bail pending a court appearance.
NEW PALTZ
Drugs: Laramie S. “Sky” Yablon, 24, of 56 N. Manheim Blvd., was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance by the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday. Police said they investigated a report that a man known as “Sky” was selling heroin in and around New Paltz, and arrested Yablon as he was conducting a heroin transaction at Plattekill Avenue and Main Street in the village of New Paltz. SAUGERTIES
Larceny: Gary Norton, 35, address unavailable, was charged by state police at Ulster with felony grand larceny at 11:49 a.m. Tuesday on Old Kings Highway in the town of Saugerties. He was issued an appearance ticket for Saugerties Town Court.
Prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage: Sukhwinder Singh, 29, of Saugerties, was charged by state police at Ulster with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, a misdemeanor, at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday at Lucky Mart on Main Street in the village of Saugerties. He was issued an appearance ticket for Saugerties Village Court.
TOWN OF ULSTER
Menacing: Russell A. Winchell, 56, of 211 Dewitt Mills Road, town of Ulster, was charged by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies with misdemeanor menacing related to a landlord-tenant dispute. Deputies said Winchell is accused of pointing two unloaded, bolt-action rifles from his home at a tenant. He was issued an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.
WAWARSING
Contraband: Florence S. Charley, 52, of Mount Vernon, was charged by state police at Wawarsing with providing contraband to prisoners, a misdemeanor, at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at Eastern State Correctional Facility on Institution Road. Further information was unavailable.
