RHINEBECK, N.Y. – A 56-year-old East Cedar Lane woman was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with drunken driving after she struck a parked state police car and slightly injured the two troopers in the vehicle.
Police said Jayne Wardwell-Christy of 18 East Cedar Lane, Rhinebeck, was traveling eastbound on Livingston Street in the village Tuesday at 6 p.m. when she hit a parked state police car occupied by two troopers.
Police said the two troopers, who received minor injuries, were taken to a local hospital and later released.
According to police, responding troopers interviewed Wardwell-Christy, detected the odor of alcohol and administered the standard sobriety test, which she was unable to perform.
They said she was taken into custody and charged with two counts of misdemeanor drunken driving.
She was issued tickets to appear in Rhinebeck Village Court.
